At the very least, they'll know of each other, and they've most likely met several times (I'm sure they have like, academic conferences for nerdy people who have bizarre social habits and unhealthy obsessions with kaiju?). Tenpou is a cryptozoologist who's worked with the Chinese and Japanese branches of the PPDC before transferring to Chile, so they'd be colleagues!

Aww! That's really rather cute~ Once they start talking about kaiju, they won't stop until days have gone by and they run out of coffee and pass out... And they can terrorize the rest of the Shatterdome together!
